RapidPurge Activated Chemical products are specially formulated concentrates for enhanced purging using in-house filled resin, such as glass-filled resin. Your “production” filled resin is mixed with the RapidPurge concentrate to create the purging compound.
These grades are also very successful for purging clear resins such as polycarbonate, acrylic, and crystal polystyrene. This pelletized concentrate can be mixed with polycarbonate or acrylic regrind at a 15% mix ration and then run through the machine at normal operating temperatures.
These grades can also be used as a Shutdown media to eliminate black specs on startup. Simply purge the machine, empty and shutdown, leaving the residual RapidPurge in the machine to prevent oxidation. The purge material will not burn during cool down/heat up offering a faster startup that is free of black specks. Scrap generation on startup will become less and less with continued use.
These products include chemical agents that break down the molecular structure and viscosity of the resident resin. RapidPurge Activated Chemical products come in two versions: a mechanical compound that includes a foaming agent to reach negative flow areas, and a chemical/mechanical formulation for more difficult purging applications.
Activated Chemical compounds can be used in all processes: injection, extrusion, and blow molding.
Product is available in 25/50lb boxes, 100 lb drums, or 1000lb Gaylord.
- CC3000 – a concentrate that includes chemical agents that provide that extra whallop for addressing high degradation, difficult color changeovers, and challenging resident residue issues.
- MC1000 – concentrate – foaming pellets – 100% pelletized resin with foaming – must be mixed with a carrier resin prior to use – works best with glass-filled or mineral-filled resin. Foaming additives expands the purge into low/negative flow areas.
≡ Features
Heavy-duty Chemical Agents
Both the CC3000 and MC1000 include our proprietary chemical formulation that adds an extra punch for heavy-duty, challenging purging operations.
Activated Foaming Agent
Both products include a heat-activated foaming agent to clean hard-to-reach negative flow areas.
Concentrated Mix
The concentrate is mixed at your location with your resident filled resin. Due to the high mix ratio (15/85 for CC3000 and 20/80 for MC1000), the concentrates provide a very cost-effective purging compound. Concentrate to be mixed with resin of equal or greater value in viscosity than resident resin being purged.
Maximum Results
Temperatures can be raised to maximum level of resident resin allowing for a short soak cycle during purge for highly demanding applications.
Restrictions
We do not recommend mixing CC3000 with PVC, Thermoplastic Elastomers, Acetals, Acetate.
