Chemical Grades

Quality Chemical Grades for Purging Applications

RapidPurge chemical purging compounds are specially formulated to address high degradation, difficult color changeovers, and challenging resident residue issues. These chemical grades are non-abrasive and can be used to clean injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding equipment.

Some of the features of chemical purging compounds from RapidPurge include:

  • Heavy-duty chemical agents – A proprietary chemical formulation adds an extra punch for heavy-duty, challenging purging operations.
  • Pellet form factor – The RapidPurge proprietary pellet manufacturing process ensures that the chemical potency of the compound is preserved for purging for our Activated Chemical/Mechanical grades.
  • Shut-down/start-up – Excellent shut-down properties clean and prevent degradation while complementing efficient start-ups.
  • Pre-mixed – Pre-mixed products include universal carrier resins, providing ultimate convenience and handling.
  • Concentrates – These can be mixed at your facility with a resin of equal or greater value in viscosity than the resident resin being purged.
  • Maximum results – Temperatures can be raised to the maximum level, allowing for a short soak cycle during purges for highly demanding applications.

RapidPurge does not recommend mixing any chemical concentrate grade with PVC, thermoplastic elastomers, acetals, or acetate.

All of our chemical grades are available with different PE base resins to match your temperature and viscosity requirements. No matter the issue, RapidPurge has the right chemical grade for your application.

Activated Chemical/Mechanical Purging Compounds

  • PM9240– Premix – most universal grade – best answer for most resins. Formulated for 380°F – 580°F.
  • PM5540– Premix – specially formulated for high viscosity/stiff resins and/or high-temperature purging up to 725°F.
  • PM8240– Premix – specially formulated for low-temperature purging 380°F – 450°F.
  • IG3000– Chemical/mechanical concentrate grade – must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – very cost-effective. Most universal grade – Formulated for 380°F – 580°F.
  • IG3000HT– Chemical/mechanical concentrate grade – must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – very cost-effective. Specially formulated for high viscosity/stiff resins and/or high-temperature purging up to 725°F.
  • IG3000LT– Chemical/mechanical concentrate grade – must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – very cost-effective. Specially formulated for low-temperature purging 380°F – 450°F.

Activated Chemical Purging Compounds

  • CC3000– Chemical concentrate grade – specially formulated for applications with a filled resin, such as glass-filled resin, or for purging clear resins like polycarbonate, acrylic, and crystal polystyrene.
  • MC1000– Concentrate foaming pellets – allows you to make your own universal purge mixture. Must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – works best with glass-filled or mineral-filled resin. Foaming additives expand the purge into low/negative flow areas.
  • R5000– Chemical powder concentrate – designed for sensitive applications where a foreign resin cannot be introduced.

FDA/GRAS Purging Compounds

  • RE9240– Premix – most universal grade – best answer for most resins. Formulated for 380°F – 580°F.
  • RE5540– Premix – specially formulated for high viscosity/stiff resins and/or high-temperature purging up to 725 F.
  • RE8240– Premix – specially formulated for low-temperature purging 380°F – 450°F.
  • RE3000– Concentrate grade – must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – very cost-effective.
  • RE3000HT– Concentrate grade – must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – very cost-effective. Formulated for high viscosity/stiff resins and/or high-temperature purging up to 725°F.
  • RE3000LT– Concentrate grade – must be mixed with a carrier resin before use – very cost-effective. Specially formulated for low-temperature purging 380°F – 450°F.
  • EC3000– Chemical concentrate grade – specially formulated for applications with a filled resin, such as glass-filled resin, or for purging clear resins like polycarbonate, acrylic, and crystal polystyrene.
